Welcome to Hoshino Endodontics
Your dentist has referred you to us because he or she believes your treatment requires the service of a specialist. As a patient in our practice, you can expect the highest quality of care in an environment where you are treated with compassion and personalized attention. You can be assured that we use the most advanced technology and techniques in endodontic therapy with a focus on delivering clinical excellence.
What is an Endodontist?
An endodontist is a specialist who performs root canals and other procedures to relieve pain. These procedures are necessary when the nerves or tissues inside your tooth become damaged or infected. Using microscopic techniques, ultrasonic cleaning, and advanced digital radiography, we clean out the tiny spaces within the root system and reseal them. Our main goal is to preserve your natural tooth, and avoid an extraction, whenever possible.
Hsiao-Ling Hoshino, DMD, MS, MPH
Dr. Hsiao-Ling Hoshino was born in Taipei, Taiwan but grew up in Englewood, Colorado. Her education began at the University of Michigan earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and a Master of Public Health degree in Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology. Her love for science and passion for education took her to Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. where she obtained her Master of Science degree in Physiology and Biophysics. Dr. Hoshino’s education was applied to cancer research at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania caring for the terminally ill. With many patients complaining of tooth pain, Dr. Hoshino decided to pursue a profession in dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh receiving a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. She spent two more years in Pittsburgh researching the prevention of craniofacial bone and tooth deformities for a specialty program to obtain her Certificate in Advanced Endodontics. She was chosen to present her research at the 2014 American Association of Endodontists Annual Session.
Dr. Hoshino feels the most important step towards successful dental treatment is patient education. She believes patient comfort is a priority during treatment while using modern techniques and equipment. Her compassion and respect for the specialty of Endodontics has Dr. Hoshino involved in educating other dentists and herself by conducting and attending continuing education courses.
Dr. Hoshino moved to Hawaii to be with her husband, Dr. Matt Hoshino, a practicing local Endodontist. When Dr. Hoshino is not providing endodontic care, she enjoys yoga and outdoor activities, such as hiking and jogging.
